Our rooms

Originally serving as Jesse and Ella Gregg’s main bedroom in 1896, this historic space features the original coal-burning fireplace—now decorative—with elegant green tile. The recently renovated bathroom offers distinctive charm, ample natural light, a high-seat toilet, and a stylish, curb-less shower designed for convenient access and comfort. The suite, named after renowned architect Clarence Johnston who designed the house, offers generous space with its two rooms. One room features a king-size bed, while the other includes a leather sofa, hideaway bed, large TV, and a screened balcony overlooking the historic tree-lined neighborhood. The suite also boasts an en-suite bathroom with the original 6-foot clawfoot tub and shower, plus a vintage 120 year old Carerra marble vanity.

This room is named in honor of George (Geo) Grant, the talented builder who constructed both this home and the State Capitol. His legacy is reflected in the craftsmanship and enduring quality found throughout the house. Features and Amenities • Built-In Closets: The room features beautiful built-in closets that have remained in excellent condition for over 120 years, showcasing the quality of their construction. • Bathroom: Guests can enjoy a lovely bathroom adorned with elegant Carreca tile. The bathroom includes a convenient tub and shower combination. • Bed and Linens: The room is furnished with a comfortable queen bed, complemented by luxurious Comphy brand sheets for a restful night's sleep. • Natural Light and Views: Plenty of natural light fills the space, offering a bright and inviting atmosphere. The windows provide a beautiful view of the neighboring house, which was designed by the notable architect Cass Gilbert for his mother. Cass Gilbert is also recognized as the architect of the State Capitol.

F. Scott Fitzgerald was born just 100 yards from this room. Featuring an opulent tiled bathroom and spacious shower. Sleep well in the king-size bed with a hybrid purple mattress. Enjoy a large TV equipped with numerous streaming services so you never miss your favorite shows. Enjoy the cutest carriage house in the whole Twin Cities. Have your own little home nestled in the Historic District. You’ll feel at home in this cozy carriage house. Two bedrooms, one king size bed and a second with a queen and a pull out full bed; a full kitchenette; a full bath with tub and hand shower; living room with sectional and TV. This carriage house was built in 1910 and according to census records it was home to the chauffeur and his wife for 20 years. See special instructions about No Breakfast. (2 night minimum stay) *Note the bathroom has a large tub with hand shower; which may be used as a regular shower if you are medium or short, however, if one is tall then it’s a hand held shower with large bathtub. *Note there is a one story steep staircase to enter the carriage house.
